Worte fürs Leben/About Alexander
About Alexander Bench
I don’t come
with a ready-made speech.
I come with questions.
Listening comes before writing. That is not a method – it is a conviction born of years of accompanying people.
Alexander Bench – Nidderau · Rhine-Main
Who I am
I have accompanied people through some of the most significant moments of their lives. That has taught me one thing.
I am Alexander Bench – author, pastor and speaker. For many years I have accompanied people in the moments when words truly matter. At weddings. At funerals. At transitions that don’t yet have a name.
I come from faith – but I don’t write for believers alone. I write for people. For their stories. For their moments.
What drives me is not the speaking. It is the listening. Because before I know which words a moment needs, I have to understand what that moment means.
That is the heart of everything I do.
What sets me apart
I am not the speaker who gives a good speech.
I am the one who asks first – and then writes. Who doesn’t arrive with a template, but with a sincere interest in what makes this story unique.
Many speakers are good. But good is not enough when it comes to the most important moments of a person’s life.
What I bring is time. Attentiveness. And the conviction that every story deserves to be truly heard.
Before I write a single word, I listen. That is not a method. It is the only way to find words that truly carry.Alexander Bench
What I believe
Three convictions that shape everything I do.
Every story is unique
There are no interchangeable moments. There are only moments that haven’t yet found the right words. To change that – that’s what I’m here for.
Dignity before effect
A speech may be moving. But it must never override the dignity of the moment or the people. That is the line I never cross.
Trust takes time
People don’t open up straight away. And that’s good. I take the time it needs – so that the words I write truly come from you.
Background
The path that led me here.
I live in Nidderau and lead a congregation in Frankfurt am Main. As a pastor I have accompanied people for many years – and experience daily what it means when words are spoken at the right moment.
As an author I write about faith, maturity, leadership and life in its great transitions. About the questions that occupy people – even when they rarely ask them aloud. More on alexanderbench.com →
